Discouraging news at our visit today, November 17th

Our appointment today gave us some discouraging news. If you remember in my previous posts, I had some blood drawn to determine my remaining egg count. They measured my Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH).  Below you will see the chart on where a woman's AMH level should be if she is perfectly healthy without any infertility issues. I got this chart from a website called Genesis Fertility.
According to these charts, a 28-year old female should have approximately 3.8 ng/ml. Unfortunately, my count is nowhere near that number. It makes me want to cry thinking about it. My number is 0.26 ng/ml.

A normal 28-year old female on the max dosage of medicine should produce almost 30 eggs during the IVF cycle. As of this morning, I only had 5 eggs (follicles) showing.

This is the reason the doctor put me on the max dosage of medicine. Before this is over, we will likely have to order 3 sets of medicine. That would put our medicine cost up from $3,100 to $7,300. We're currently at $5,200 and will see how it goes from here. We're praying that they won't put me on a third set of days under medication. We have to play this by ear because we don't find out anything until each appointment.

Please keep us in your prayers. Going 5 years being told nothing is wrong with us but being unable to have a child and then finding out I'm basically about to hit menopause... it's just really hard.

This Wednesday morning is my next appointment.
